WebEstá organizado en grupos de trabajo ( task forces) de los cuales el más conocido es el Grupo de Trabajo de Ingeniería de Internet ( Internet Engineering Task Force o IETF), responsable de las pautas arquitectónicas a largo plazo, los procedimientos de apelación durante el proceso de estandarización y varias otras tareas. WebEl IAB también es corresponsable de la IETF Administrativo del Comité de Supervisión (IAOC), que supervisa la actividad del IETF de Apoyo Administrativo (IASA), que proporciona apoyo logístico, etc, para la IETF. El IAB también maneja la Internet Research Task Force (IRTF), con la que el IETF tiene una serie de relaciones a través del grupo.
